To address fluctuating costs in building materials and ensure dwellings are insured for the full replacement cost, agents should be aware of inflation factors for new business starting April 1, 2024.

Residential Component Technology (RCT) Express

RCT Express®, the cost estimator product utilized by Citizens under license from CoreLogic®, will reflect the updated cost of construction to align with inflation adjustments. Any RCT Express estimate that is created or updated with a premium bearing change after April 1 will reflect the new cost information.

For quotes submitted prior to April 1, a new RCT calculation will not be required if bound after April 1.

Note: This includes quotes for new-business and policy changes.

It is important to insure properties for the full replacement cost to prevent dwellings from being underinsured in the event of a loss and to comply with underwriting requirements. Inflation factors are updated on a quarterly basis.
