Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer Montero is responsible for planning, developing and executing Citizens’ financing strategy. She oversees all aspects of financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, actuarial, corporate analytics and investment portfolio management. Additionally, she is responsible for the structuring and placement of Citizens’ reinsurance program and managing Citizens’ liquidity strategy through both traditional risk transfer and capital markets.
Montero has more than 20 years experience in accounting and related areas, including internal audit. Having served in positions of increasing responsibility within Citizens and its predecessor entity, the Florida Residential Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association, since 1999, she has developed unmatched institutional knowledge and in-depth understanding of Citizens’ financial capacity and business model. Previous positions at Citizens include Controller and Manager of the Accounting and Finance departments.
Montero received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Florida State University and is a Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
