Mobile Home July 2026 Rate Updates
07.16.26

You will recall that on March 16, 2026, the Florida Office of Insurance approved the following changes to Citizens’ rates, which impacted mobile home policies, particularly those insured as primary residences that apply to new and renewal policies with effective dates on or after July 1, 2026.

Rate Changes

While the approved 2026 rate changes reflect an overall decrease for non-primary residential mobile homes, the impact on our book of business for primary residential mobile homes is a rate increase. Refer to the chart below.

Individual rate changes are subject to applicable caps (15% for primary and 50% for non-primary policies), excluding coverage changes, mitigation adjustments, assessments and surcharges, and a required rapid cash build-up provision for the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund, if applicable.

Mobile Home Policy Types Primary Approved Non-Primary Approved
Mobile Homeowners 3 – Special Form (MHO-3) 12.7 -10.7
Mobile Homeowners 2 – Wind-Only Form (MW-2) 14.8 -6.0
Mobile Home Dwelling Property 1 – Basic Form (MDP-1) 12.8 -11.9
Mobile Home Dwelling Property 1 – Wind-Only Form (MD-1) 14.8 -4.8

Agents can reference the new resources now available in the Spotlight section by selecting the appropriate policy type to view Rate Changes by Territory:

Please note that Underwriting Rule 118. Policy Changes states that policies may not be canceled and rewritten to circumvent forthcoming rate, rule, coverage, or surcharge changes. Policies submitted as rewrites solely to obtain a lower rate will be canceled.
