Ken Tinkham
Interim General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer

As the Interim General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of Citizens, Ken Tinkham is responsible for overseeing an in-house team of lawyers that provides legal advice related to all aspects of Citizens’ operations. Tinkham also oversees Ethics and Compliance as well as Records Management.

Tinkham has practiced law for over 16 years. He began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida, prosecuting thousands of criminal matters and trying dozens of jury trials. Thereafter, Tinkham worked as a senior lawyer at the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) in Tallahassee, Florida. While at the OIR, he handled litigation and appeals, actively engaged in the market conduct examinations of multiple companies, and was the primary legal counsel responsible for drafting multiple OIR Orders.

Tinkham joined Citizens in 2013 as Counsel. He became Senior Counsel and then Deputy General Counsel. During his time with Citizens, he has been extensively involved in agent and agency matters, complex litigation, and depopulation.

Tinkham graduated from Stetson University in 2003 and from Florida State University College of Law in 2006.
