What is Citizens Property Insurance Corporation?


Florida's unique exposure to hurricanes led the Florida Legislature to take extraordinary steps in 2002 to secure the availability of property insurance coverage for all Floridians.

On May 4, 2002, Florida's governor signed legislation creating Citizens Property Insurance Corporation by merging two existing insurance associations.

Today, Citizens - a not-for-profit, tax-exempt government corporation - strives to provide its policyholders with affordable property and casualty insurance protection and superior customer service.

Citizens Purchasing


The Citizens Purchasing department is responsible for the purchase of goods and services, in accordance with Citizens' Plan of Operation and Florida law.

Purchasing's Mission


The Purchasing department's mission is to maintain a continuous supply of goods and services to support Citizens' operational needs efficiently. Purchases are secured at competitive prices via a user-friendly procurement process to ensure ethical, competitive bidding and full compliance with Citizens' Plan of Operation and Florida law.
