Citizens Begins taking claims in Big Pine Key on Wednesday

September 19, 2017 - Tallahassee
Citizens Property Insurance Corporation representatives will begin processing claims in Big Pine Key on Wednesday as Citizens increases its Hurricane Irma response throughout the Florida Keys.
Citizens’ representatives will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on Thursday at the following address:

Citizens will provide in-person service to policyholders who may be cut off from their usual means of communication. Staff can answer questions and help policyholders report a catastrophe claim. They also can issue checks for additional living expenses, if this coverage is available under the policy.
Additional assistance for Keys residents is available at Catastrophe Response Centers at the following locations:

Daily 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., curfew permitting
To make your visit more efficient, please bring the following information, if available. Volunteers can assist you in locating this information if you have a Photo ID and insured property address:
- Policy information
- Current contact information
- Date of loss
- Description and photos of damage (if possible)
